Welcome back to the new term; I am sorry that the weather over the holidays was less than kind here in the UK but we are looking forward to seeing a significant improvement over these next weeks.
Sun hats and sun cream
Please ensure that your child has a named School sun hat available in school at all times and that you put sunscreen on at home.
A polite reminder that during periods of high pollen count, we ask that children who require antihistamine are dosed up before coming to school.
Our New Outdoor Classroom
Many of you will already have seen our wonderful new outdoor classroom, given by the Friends of the Grey House. Its construction was started in the very worst of the rain we had over the holidays and then there were some logistical problems, but it is all now finished and looking very splendid.
The Staff have had some time and ‘training’ in outdoor education and we look forward to utilising this new resource and considering the best way to develop the surrounding area.
We are going to ask the children to suggest a name for this space and will be asking them to submit their suggestions to us in the next few days; we would like something which is short and ‘punchy’ maybe acknowledging the FOGH and its use – you may wish to influence their suggestions!
Parking and Driving in Mount Pleasant
A reminder at the beginning of term to please ensure anyone involved with the dropping/collecting of children is aware of the various arrangements in place for parking and the free-flow of traffic in the area and note the following:
Your help in maintaining the most positive relationship we can with our neighbours is much appreciated.
You are reminded that if you are giving a lift to children other than your own, to/from school activities, we need a completed Driver’s Declaration Form which are available from the school office.
You may recall that in December JP in Form V won the John Lewis Moz the Monster competition and was delighted to receive his own cuddly toy Moz. We were also delighted that along with this, the School has been given a Microsoft Surface Pro.
Basingstoke Festival Creative Writing Awards Ceremony – Sunday 25th March
Although this event was postponed from the week before due to the weather and many children were unable to attend, we are delighted with the results, the Awards of which are detailed below. Full results will be on the website and published in our Prizegiving Book at the end of the year:
