This is my final Newsletter of the school year which I would be grateful if you could keep and refer to ensure these last days of the year run smoothly.
Pirates of the Curry Bean
Another musical extravaganza and an evening to remember! I was, as I am sure you were so very proud of each and every one of the children who gave such an amazing performance. DVD’s will be sent home today; there is still an opportunity to order these.
We had perfect weather for this postponed event and whilst only Winchester might argue a perfect result, it was a great afternoon I think you’ll agree. We collected £197.28 for the Oak Centre for Children & Young People at The Royal Marsden……..PS thank you (and all the staff) for another lovely sports day.
Another hugely competitive but enjoyable event showcasing the tremendous standard of swimming there is throughout the Upper School; congratulations to Salisbury!
This is scheduled to take place on Tuesday; you should already have received a letter from Mrs Ueckermann regarding Private Music lessons.
Upper School – Holiday Work
Children in Forms II, III, IV and V will all be given a small amount of work to complete over the holidays, with reading as the focus.
Many of our children take part in the Fleet Library Reading Challenge which is always enjoyed by all and a member of staff from Fleet Library will be in our Assembly on Wednesday 5th July to speak about this challenge with the children.
Additionally, I would like to recommend to you, The Book Trust’s bookfinder tool. There are so many books on the market and this is a way of helping you select books over the summer which your child might enjoy. It can be found at www.booktrust.org.uk/books/bookfinder. We have also attached a Brilliant Book List which you may find useful.
Chess & Speech & Drama (Upper School) – New Pupils September
Mrs Waite-Roberts will confirm Speech and Drama timings for next year when we have more information regarding children involved in After School Clubs, Chess etc. Please email the school Office if you would like your child to take part in either and have not yet done so. Thank you.
Hart Leisure Centre
We have been asked by the staff at Hart Leisure Centre to ask for your co-operation in keeping the area around Reception clear whilst you are waiting for our swimming staff to arrive at 8.05 am. They have suggested moving towards the coffee shop area, thus keeping the thoroughfare clear. Thank you.
If you know if you will either be stopping or starting school lunches from September, please email firstname.lastname@example.org as soon as possible. Thank you.
Please bring in to school any Sainsbury’s vouchers collected as the promotion finishes next week. Thank you.

Summer school uniform should be worn with sweatshirts (we will make a decision on the day as to whether these are worn). Shoes should be polished, hair for boys should be neat and tidy and above the collar, in line with our school policy, while for girls, long hair should be tied back using school colours for any hair decorations.
For those of you new to the school, Prizegiving is one of our more formal occasions and dress code is ‘smart casual’ – do ask your child’s Form Teacher or the Form Reps if you would like further clarification or information.
The formal proceedings will start at 10.30 am. Prior to that there will be some informal musical entertainment in the marquee and whilst this is not a performance as such, I know you will be appreciative of the musicians playing. Do feel free to leave your seat to gather round the piano area to hear the music.
The crèche will be open in the School Hall from 10 am. Please ensure you have booked your place.
Mrs Alex Neil, Headmistress of Farnborough Hill, will present the prizes.
A reminder please, to park considerately in Mount Pleasant and the surrounding area so that residents are able to enter and exit their driveways freely. Please note that this is by no means a final list and we will let you know via email or other Newsletters of any new dates or changes to the existing events. We will also include a copy of this in Report envelopes.
Thank you for reading to the end of this Newsletter; it really does help the Office at this very busy time if you could refer to the above information before calling the school with any queries.
From September, we will issue a weekly bulletin by email with key dates and activities similar to ‘The Weeks Ahead’ section of the Newsletter. We are hoping this will allow you to access important information more readily. A fortnightly Newsletter will still be issued to ensure the regular reporting of School events.
