For those of you not in Assembly on Friday, you will be pleased to know that our lovely new outdoor classroom is now named ‘The Hive’. Mrs Barraclough has been window shopping on a certain website for some rather lovely accessories which will be attached/hung in due course!
After a rather unseasonal, but very welcome start to the new term with regards to weather, we are again experiencing extreme weather!
In view of this, I would ask that you ensure that children come to school with at least their school waterproof every day. We had a large number of Upper School children who did not have them on Friday.
I would also ask that children have their trainers in School every day even if they have no PE – they are needed for the court and the lawn.
I have been made aware that the new sunhats are not as ‘roomy’ as the old ones, despite our suppliers reassuring us they were the same. We are hoping for some satisfactory resolution to this issue.
Tomorrow sees our first Open Day. There is no real change to the day for the children apart from a few timetable alterations; Form VI will be showing our visitors around and we are looking forward to showing our guests the best of the school.
Next week sees Mrs Waite-Roberts pupils taking their LAMDA exams and Mrs Waite-Roberts will let you know which day your child’s exam will be.
Poetry Afternoon Upper School – Thursday 10th May
This takes place in the School Hall at 1.30 pm and all parents and friends are invited. We are delighted to welcome back Mrs Bennett to present the certificates. All Upper School children have the opportunity to perform and recite a poem with Form VI performing their LAMDA ‘dualogues’ which is always an entertaining end to the afternoon. Children are also presented with all their Speech & Drama certificates and Basingstoke Festival certificates on this occasion.
The afternoon will finish at approximately 3.15 pm.
