The last two weeks before half term saw several of our annual events take place and so there is much on which to report.
This was a great afternoon showing the best of the school with true sportsmanship being shown along with excellent results for all our runners, especially our Under 9 boys and Under 11 girls. The afternoon tea provided by the FOGH so willingly and generously was quite literally the icing on the cake and saw over £200 being donated for the The Oak Centre for Children & Young People at the Royal Marsden Hospital.
Hook Fun Run
Although only a small number of children ran, they represented the school so well on a hot morning and congratulations to: Jude, Thomas W, James P-M , Isaac, Theo A, Lois, Horatio, Mrs Pitcher, Mr T, Mr Smith & Miss Smith. Congratulations also to Ross who came third in the Fun Run and is an ex-Grey House pupil and to Jack and Lucinda who ensured a ‘full house’ for their family.
It was lovely to have the whole school at this event, held for the first time during school time. Thank you to everyone for your support. It was particularly enjoyable for the Staff who do not usually have the chance to see the children swim, show their skills.
Congratulations to Winchester and many thanks to our judges: Mr and Mrs Judge, Mr Stelfox and Mr Hayward.
Lower School Summer Afternoon
This was such an enjoyable afternoon for us all and the performances from all the children left the audience in no doubt that there is great musical and dramatic talent to be exploited from our Lower School children. Form II were excellent waiters and waitresses for the afternoon and ensured all our guests were well fed.
Shades for Shades Day
We raised £100 for the RNIB ; thank you for your support.
For those of you new to the school, Grey Matter is our own book which contains a piece of writing from every child in the school. Copies of previous years’ books are on display in the hall of the Upper School.
The proofs are now with the publishers and we will supply one copy for each family and the sum of £8.00 will be added to your account.
If you require more than one copy, please email the Office. Similarly, if you do not wish for a copy to be reserved for your family, please email the Office to let us know.
We will be placing our order at the end of this week, so please act promptly as we cannot order in quantities of less than 25. Thank you.
