Thank you for your good wishes for us over the last few days with our Ofsted Inspection visit. Whilst both you and the staff are eager to know the outcome, I am afraid that it will be at least three weeks before we hear. We will of course let you know as soon as we receive the report; inspections of any sort are not without their stresses so I apologise if we have seemed a little more distant from you than usual!
Poppies are still available for children to buy from their Form Teacher. As Remembrance Day falls at the weekend, we will be holding a short service on Friday morning at the usual Assembly time of 9.00.am, and you are welcome to join us.
We raised £120 and a donation will be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Unit at the North Hampshire Hospital. Thank you all for your donations.
Swimming Gala – Friday 3rd November
Congratulations to our Form VI Swimming Team, who won all of their swimming races in the Gala against Barfield School and to the Form V team who won all but one of their races.
‘Children in Need’ 17th November
It has been a tradition for some years that children are allowed to bring their bears to school on our Pudsey Day. A ‘fee’ of £1 should be brought in and I will be speaking with the children about the briefing they should give their bears before they come to school!
Our Children in Need fundraising event will take place on Friday 17th November. Form VI are busy planning lots of fundraising activities for the children and parents. Competitions for the children will include: A Penalty Shootout, Guess How Many Sweets in a Jar, Guess the Name of the Bear, Guess the Weight of the Cake and many more. There will also be a colouring competition and the children will also be able to buy cakes, bookmarks and badges. We suggest children bring a maximum of £7 on the day.
There will also be an adult raffle with lots of super prizes. Tickets for the raffle will be on sale before and after school from Monday 13th November. Children will also be selling official Children in Need merchandise at these times. The items include Pudsey and Blush ears for £2.50 and fabulous pompom keyrings for £3.50.
From Form VI
It will be Miles, the gardener’s last day with us next Friday and whilst we will miss him, we wish him well as he moves to another job.
Flu Immunisation – Thursday 30th November
Parents of children in Form K, Form I, Form II, Form III and Form IV will today receive a letter, a consent form and leaflet with information about Flu Immunisation. This is of course entirely optional and we ask you to complete and return the form, even if you do not want your child to receive this. We must have these forms returned by Friday 17th November. Thank you.
