Ethos

The Grey House Schol Ethos

Spring week 14We want children here at The Grey House to enjoy coming to school and to be able to take full advantage of all that is on offer.  The aim of the school is to provide first-class teaching within a happy, caring environment where children are encouraged to develop lively, enquiring minds and to acquire confidence in all aspects of school life.

The ethos of the school is based on Christian principles and we meet each morning as a whole school for Assembly.

There are three Houses: Chichester, Salisbury and Winchester. House points are awarded for academic success, behaviour, manners, helpfulness and for sporting achievements.  Form VI are  House Captains and the announcement of the weekly totals is an eagerly awaited event each Friday.

All the traditional values are important here: hard work, fair play, courtesy and respect for other people and property - all are encouraged and expected. A stable and supportive staff ensure that there is a sense of purpose and order throughout the school and our hope is that each child will go through the school, leaving with a sense of who they are, what they can do and with the knowledge that they are a part of 'The Grey House Family'.
